Project Overview

Norlab was engaged to deliver a complete laboratory fit-out for the Mallen Laboratory, a facility focused on controlled testing, formulation processes, and precision-driven workflows. The project scope included the installation of high-performance Phenolic Benchtops, custom-built Wood Cabinetry, compliant Safety Storage Cabinets, and advanced Mobile Fume Extractor systems. Each component was carefully selected to ensure durability, operational efficiency, and safety compliance. Through a structured and detail-oriented execution, the Mallen Laboratory was transformed into a modern, high-functioning workspace designed to support complex laboratory operations with consistency and reliability.

The Specific Need

The Mallen Laboratory required a comprehensive upgrade to address operational inefficiencies and safety limitations within its existing infrastructure. Work surfaces were not sufficiently resistant to chemical exposure and continuous use, reducing their long-term reliability. Storage systems lacked proper organization and compliance for handling hazardous materials safely. Additionally, ventilation solutions were limited, making it difficult to manage localized fumes generated during laboratory processes. There was also a need for adaptable systems to support evolving workflows. The objective was to elevate the Mallen Laboratory into a controlled and efficient environment that ensured both safety and performance.

Our Solution

Norlab delivered a tailored solution designed specifically for the Mallen Laboratory. Durable Phenolic Benchtops were installed to provide non-porous, chemical-resistant surfaces suitable for demanding applications. Custom Wood Cabinetry was integrated to improve storage organization and maintain an efficient workspace layout. Safety Storage Cabinets were incorporated to securely contain hazardous substances while meeting safety standards. In addition, Mobile Fume Extractor systems were introduced to provide flexible and targeted ventilation, allowing effective control of airborne contaminants.
