Norlab was selected to execute a comprehensive laboratory fit-out for the Puerto Rico University Laboratory, a facility dedicated to academic research, technical experimentation, and advanced analytical processes. The project scope included the installation of high-performance Phenolic Benchtops, precision-built Metal Cabinetry, ergonomic Laboratory Chairs, and advanced Fume Hoods. Each component was carefully chosen to meet strict academic and safety standards while enhancing long-term durability and operational efficiency. Through a structured and well-coordinated implementation, the Puerto Rico University Laboratory was transformed into a modern, high-functioning environment capable of supporting diverse scientific activities with consistency and reliability.

The Specific Need

The Puerto Rico University Laboratory required a significant upgrade to address infrastructure limitations impacting both safety and productivity. Existing work surfaces were not sufficiently resistant to chemical exposure and continuous use, reducing their effectiveness over time. Storage systems lacked proper organization, making it difficult to manage laboratory materials and equipment efficiently. Additionally, students and researchers required improved ergonomic support to maintain comfort during extended experimental sessions. Ventilation systems were also inadequate for handling hazardous fumes generated during laboratory procedures. The objective was to elevate the Puerto Rico University Laboratory into a safe, efficient, and well-structured research environment.

Durable Phenolic Benchtops were installed to provide non-porous, chemical-resistant surfaces suitable for intensive academic use.
