Project Overview

Norlab was selected to design and deliver a high-efficiency laboratory environment for the Zijin Laboratory, with a focus on safety, durability, and controlled operational performance. The project included the installation of Phenolic Benchtops, reinforced Metal Cabinetry, high-performance Fume Hoods, and strategically located Emergency Showers. Each component was carefully chosen to meet the demands of intensive laboratory processes while ensuring long-term reliability. Through a structured and precise implementation, the Zijin Laboratory was transformed into a modern and secure facility built to support consistent and safe scientific operations.

The Specific Need

The Zijin Laboratory required a comprehensive upgrade to resolve critical safety and performance limitations. Existing work surfaces lacked the resistance needed for continuous chemical exposure, leading to deterioration over time. Storage systems were insufficient for organizing materials efficiently, affecting workflow productivity. Additionally, the laboratory lacked adequate ventilation, increasing the risk of exposure to hazardous fumes. Emergency response infrastructure was also limited, creating potential safety concerns. The objective was to upgrade the Zijin Laboratory into a controlled, efficient, and safety-focused environment capable of supporting demanding laboratory activities.

Our Solution

Norlab implemented a customized solution tailored specifically to the Zijin Laboratory. High-resistance Phenolic Benchtops were installed to provide durable and non-porous surfaces capable of handling chemical exposure and heavy use. Robust Metal Cabinetry was integrated to improve storage organization and long-term durability. Advanced Fume Hoods were strategically positioned to ensure proper ventilation and safe extraction of hazardous fumes. In addition, Emergency Showers were installed to provide immediate response in case of accidental exposure. This integrated approach ensured that the Zijin Laboratory could operate with enhanced safety, efficiency, and reliability.

The completed Zijin Laboratory now operates with significantly improved safety standards and operational efficiency. The Phenolic Benchtops provide a reliable and durable workspace, while the Metal Cabinetry enhances organization and accessibility.
